Sailor that died after running event identified

Guam - The Naval Hospital has released the identity of the hospital corpsman 3rd class petty officer who died after participating in the 2nd Annual Guam Beast Run.  22-year-old Andrew Sanders of North Carolina died at the Naval Hospital emergency room but the cause of death has not been determined. 

According to hospital spokesperson Jennifer Zingalie, sanders checked on board the hospital in April where he worked alongside the transition officer preparing hospital and staff for the move into the new hospital.  He was a decorated sailor. 

Planning for a memorial service and funeral are ongoing.
