Guam - The Public Auditor has decided and the outcome would leave thousands of DOE classrooms in the heat.

Following today's hearing on a procurement appeal filed by JMI Edison, DOE will have to go back and review the bids again for the purchase of over 2,000 A/C units for DOE schools.

DOE deputy superintendent Rob Malay says this decision is time sensitive as the contract was already awarded to J&B and Sons which has already made the purchase of A/Cs anticipated to arrive on island at the end of the month.

Malay says DOE must determine how best to proceed as today's decision could jeopardize roughly $7.5 million in ARRA funds that are set to expire on Monday.
