Officers submit resignations following convictions
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - Two police officers who were convicted last week have resigned from the Guam Police Department. Anthony Quenga and David Manila remain behind bars awaiting sentencing in November. The two were convicted of kidnapping, felonious restraint, promoting prostitution, criminal sexual conduct, conspiracy, criminal intimidation and official misconduct for their role in the Blue House brothel.
Defense attorneys have indicated that they will likely appeal to the Guam Supreme Court, but nothing has been filed yet. Police Chief Fred Bordallo is currently off-island and could not be reached for comment about the verdict.
The resignations were accepted today.
