GUAM - The US Department of Justice has awarded close to $271,000 worth of grants to the Guam Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence, the Guam Department of Youth Affairs and the Governor's office.

According to a release from congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo's office, the funding is from two grants awarded this week and would be used to support rape crisis centers and other nonprofit organizations for direct intervention and related assistance to victims of sexual assault, to support victim services such as training and technical assistance, public awareness, battered women's shelters and other victim service programs, and to support the enforcement of underage drinking law programs, campaigns and other media awareness educational campaigns.
