GWA unveils new meter test bench in Tiyan
by Krystal Paco
Guam - For decades the island has struggled with water meter failure, but those days are over thanks to the new meter test bench temporarily located at the Airport Cargo Facility in Tiyan.
GWA water meter reader supervisor Bryan Arceo says the equipment ensures meters are calibrated and functioning properly as well as helps to address customer billing disputes. the new piece of equipment cost around a half million dollars and came from the agency's 2010 bond monies.
meanwhile, GWA spokesperson Heidi Ballendorf notes 23,000 of the new badger meters have been installed to date with 9,000 more to be installed before the end of the year or the start of next year anticipating delays due to the rainy season.
