Federal indictment in drug trafficking case

Irene Fernandez has been indicted in federal court.  She was found in possession of more than 500 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Guam - Irene Fernandez has been indicted in federal court.  She was found in possession of more than 500 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The drugs were hidden in a metal pot and stein that was mailed from California. 

Law enforcement executed a search warrant in Yigo after intercepting the drugs at the post office.  Fernandez admitted that she had wired money to the sender of the package and that the drugs were intended for her.  Agents also seized one straw and several baggies containing crystal meth. She remains in federal custody.

Fernandez is charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
