Guam - While he previously asserted his right to a speedy trial, 50-year-old David Briggs waived his right when he appeared in the Superior Court of Guam today.  Last month police raided his Mangilao home where they confiscated more than 100 marijuana plants he allegedly had been growing there.

Briggs is charged with manufacturing and possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance with the intent to distribute. Another criminal trial setting is set for September 10.
