Guam - The Postal Inspector with the help of Customs and Quarantine drug detector dogs helped stopped more than 500 grams of crystal methamphetamine from making it out onto the streets. The drugs were hidden in a metal pot and stein that was mailed from California.

A federal complaint was handed down Wednesday against Irene Fernandez, accusing her of conspiring to distribute the drug ice.  The complaint stems from a federal search warrant that was executed at a home on Chalan Isa in Nissho Terrace in Yigo.  On Wednesday federal investigators encountered Fernandez and others at the home.

According to court documents, she admitted that she wired money to the sender of the package and that she was the intended recipient.  Agents also seized one straw and several baggies containing crystal meth.  Fernandez was remanded to the custody of U.S. Marshals and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 14th.
