Guam - During the Port Authority of Guam's board meeting general manager Joanne Brown requested relief in the form of hiring additional port police officers to provide security.

She said, "We're running on average over the last three months $12,000 a month in overtime just in the Port Police Division...and I think that at a certain point you burn out people. I think the overtime is wonderful if you have the time to do it but some of our people are complaining that they have other obligations to meet and they want the time and they deserve it."

Brown was given the approval to move forward with hiring the most qualified individuals.
