Guam - 21-year old Maurice Powell faces charges of attempted murder. According to court documents he was drunk and upset that his ex-girlfriend was seeing someone else two weeks after they broke up. Powell is accused of going to the victim's home in Agat and attempting to stab her. The victim's mother had intervened and managed to get the knife away from him, but Powell evidently pulled out another knife. The victim's mother also managed to take that away from him as well. She also managed to take him down to the ground and hold him until the police arrived. According to court documents Powell admitted to police that he intended to kill the victim and then himself. He's since been charged with aggravated murder, aggravated assault and terrorizing. The victim suffered cuts from the altercation.
