Federal furloughs begin Monday

As a result of sequestration, 224 civilian employees assigned to Joint Region Marianas, Naval Base Guam and Andersen Air Force Base will not be working on Monday.

Guam - Federal furloughs begin on Monday. As a result of sequestration, 224 civilian employees assigned to Joint Region Marianas, Naval Base Guam and Andersen Air Force Base will not be working on Monday. As we reported sequestration begins on July 8 on Guam requiring that up to 88 work hours be reduced until the end of the fiscal year.

Joint Region Marianas employees will be furloughed on Mondays.  The commissaries on Andersen Air Force Base and Naval Base Guam will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays as a result of sequestration.
