Guam - Representatives from the Department of Public Works are appearing before lawmakers this evening. Senator Michael San Nicolas called the oversight hearing with the agency to get an update on school bus operations, procurement issues, as well as readiness for the upcoming school year.

Also up for discussion tonight - the addition of the Guahan Academy Charter School to the schedule. DPW director Carl Dominguez tells KUAM Charter School officials transmitted a listing of student villages but need to give more information, including bus stop locations.

The agency will need more time to digest the new information and if they can handle the additional 500 students anticipated to attend the new school as the DPW fleet is short already.

Meanwhile, Dominguez adds DPW has yet to accept 10 new 84-passenger busses from GSA due to a protest filed by Triple J.
