GUAM - Guam Environmental Protection Agency administrator Eric Palacios is concerned Guam Resource Recovery Partners may be dragging its feet.

At Thursday's board meeting, Palacios indicated three months have passed since GEPA requested more information following GRRP's agreement to dismiss the appeal of their initial denied application to operate a solid waste landfill in Atantano, Santa Rita.

"We're going to try to figure out something and say, 'hey you have 40 days until the clock stops, for example to submit these documents or we outright deny your application'. That's what's not too clear at this point" Palacios voiced.

GRRP's Dave Sablan tells KUAM it's been a lengthy process to address all of Palacios' concerns. Sablan says they're adding 60-thousand gallons to their leachate control tank as well as preparing to negotiate a contract with the Guam Waterworks Authority to address any overflow during the rainy season.

He hoped to have those plans submitted by the end of the day.
