Discussions regarding development of Chamorro Land Trust properties take place
Senators, the USDA, the CLTC and other stakeholders further discussed maximizing funds available, financing for infrastructure, eligibility requirements for programs and comparing practices done in Hawaii and Guam.
A roundtable discussion was held this afternoon to discuss programs available for Chamorro Land Trust properties such as grants and loans to fund infrastructure development.
USDA Rural Development State Director Chris Kanazawa, coming off a speaking engagement at the Affordable Housing Symposium, offered his insight on programs available.
"The key is that substantially underserved trust areas (SUTA) provide additional tools and benefits that overlay onto our existing traditional rural utilities services programs and all those rules and regulations apply"
