Malaysian pleads guilty to aggravated identity theft

One of two Chinese nationals who were caught on Guam in possession of more than two dozen fraudulent credit cards has signed a plea agreement with the feds.

Guam - One of two Chinese nationals who were caught on Guam in possession of more than two dozen fraudulent credit cards has signed a plea agreement with the feds. Choon Boon Tan will plead guilty to aggravated identity theft. 

According to the plea agreement, the Malaysian citizen admits that he and Kuan Siong Tan came to Guam intending to purchase high-end electronics and deliver them to an individual in Malaysia.  The two originally told authorities that they were given the credit cards and sent to Guam in order to pay off their gambling debts.

Tan will receive the mandatory minimum sentence of two years behind bars.
