by Mindy Aguon
Guam - Rescue units from the Guam Fire Department pulled the body of a 57-year-old man from the waters off Pago Bay last night. GFD spokesperson Lt. Ed Artero says he was spear fishing and did not return at sunset.
"The call came in at 7 pm stating that one of the fisherman were overdue so that was the reason why we rolled out when we got there we met with the reporting party he stated the general area they were fishing at our rescue units went out on jet skis and they were able to recover him but he was unresponsive he was already expired when they got to him," he explained.
Chief medical examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola confirmed with KUAM News the spear fisherman's identity as Joseph Rojas, and that he had drowned.
