Guam - Police Lieutenant Mark Charfauros' appeals for a five-day suspension and a demotion will not be heard until next year. Charfauros was suspended after doing an interview with KUAM News after he was arrested for allegedly giving an incarcerated police officer access to his cell phone.

He was also demoted from the rank of police captain to lieutenant for allegedly unbecoming conduct of a police officer. Charfauros remains assigned to the Department of Corrections where he is assisting the director there with several matters.

He has denied any wrongdoing.

During a status conference this afternoon the commission set his suspension hearing for February 11 and 13th of next year and demotion hearing for February 18 and 20th.
