Another appeal filed in Blue House case

Guam - While one appeal has been dismissed in the Blue House Lounge case, another appeal has been filed resulting in another delay of the trial. Police Officer David Q. Manila has filed an appeal of the trial court's denial of his first and second motions to modify bail.
Just yesterday Guam Supreme Court justices dismissed an appeal filed by co-defendant Song Ja Cha on double jeopardy grounds. The court found it lacked jurisdiction and said Cha could raise her appeal after a second trial. Manila recently withdrew his motions to dismiss the indictment but filed an appeal as his bail motions were denied. "That's where we are at - at this point based on the appeal Mr. Valdez that you filed on behalf of your 'client the court again is of the opinion that my jurisdiction to continue this matter may be divested," said Judge Anita Sukola.
The court set a status hearing is set for June 10 at 9am. Cha, Manila and Anthony Quenga are accused of promoting prostitution at the former Blue House Lounge.
