Guam - Did the Superior Court of Guam err in allowing Alex Castro's mixed martial arts background in as evidence? Castro's defense attorney believed the trial court did, and presented arguments to Supreme Court justices today.

Castro is appealing his conviction and three-year sentence.  He was convicted of 3rd degree aggravated assault, assault and reckless conduct relating to a bar fight involving sailor Jarrett Dunham.  Castro denied hitting the man and the judge impose jail time referring to Castro's MMA training.

The defense contends that evidence shouldn't have been considered. They also believe there was insufficient evidence to prove that Castro actually struck Dunham. Additionally they argue that the Superior Court abused its sentencing discretion since his co-defendants were given probation.

Justices took the appeal under advisement.
