Guam - By May 24, the Guam Election Commission will purge voters who did not vote in the 2010 and 2012 general elections. According to GEC executive director Maria Pangelinan, current law mandates the GEC to take off voters who failed to vote in two consecutive general elections.

The recent election reform law mandates the GEC to publish a list of names of voters set to be purged. Thereafter, the GEC must also mail out two notices, one informing them they will be purged and a second saying they've been taken off the voter registry.

There are currently over 4,600 names on the purged voter list. She adds the GEC spent $13,000 for publishing the names and sending out notices. As of Monday, only 31 voters have come in to re-register.
