Guam - Wanting to take a closer look at our current tax structure and other possible alternatives, Senator Michael Limtiaco has written Speaker Judi Won Pat on whether any information exists from prior legislative tax review commissions. And if not, Limtiaco asks for the commission to be convened.

"Per the law, the Legislative Tax Commission is supposed to take a systematic approach at analyzing our current tax structures and to report back findings to not only the Legislature, but as well as the governor on ways to improve our tax system," he said.

The statute was set in 2004 for the appointment of the commission and every four years thereafter consisting of certified public accountants, tax attorneys and members of Rev & Tax and GEDA. He says the inquiry stems from research he's been working on which also includes writing Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo over the applicability of the Earned Income Tax Credit on Guam.
