5 teachers advance to next round for Teacher of the Year

Guam - Five Department of Education teachers are one step closer to winning the 2013 Public School Teacher of the Year Award. Simon Sanchez High School's Gretchen Andres, Melanie Blas, and Acie Jo Sablan Cruz as well as Oceanview Middle School's Mary Anne Angeles and Ranier Tanalgo advance to the interview round before the selection committee picks a top three for onsite classroom observation.

The winning teacher will be announced on May 22.
