Guam - The Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse has a new name with the signing of Bill 73, authored by Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr.,  into law late this afternoon. Now the Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, director Ray Vega says the stigma is gone for those seeking their services.

"With that stigma out we anticipate that the consumer themselves will have a well being to seek treatment and not be ashamed about it," he said.

Vega says close to 1,300 individuals seek their services which range from the residential homes to their main facility that caters to those struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, as well as I Famagu'on-Ta for children, and the adult mental health services.
