7 arrested in weekend brawl released from jail
Guam - Seven people who were arrested over the weekend in connection with a disturbance in Yona have been released from jail and given a notice to appear in court in one year. Cyenlla Thornto, Eric Gordon Bay, Jonathan Robert Brown, Sandra Cepeda, Ellainne Bay, Monica Renee Thornton and Warintip Loto were arrested on a slew of charges ranging from assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstruction of government operations and disorderly conduct. Thornton allegedly became combative when police came to conduct a dui investigation.
She's accused of choking a police officer while others allegedly attacked the other officers who responded to the scene. Four police officers were injured. Attorney General's Office spokesperson Carlina Charfauros says the office has one year to bring charges against the individuals. Charfauros says the police reports were not compiled and sent to the agency in a timely manner. which resulted in their release because they could not appear before a magistrate judge.
