Guam - After a monthlong of familiarization meetings with local hotels, starting tomorrow the Guam Fire Department will begin ticketing people caught parking in fire lanes. Guam Fire Department acting fire chief John Wusstig tells KUAM News that GFD teamed up with the Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association to share information about compliance and enforcement of the new law.

"Our goal is not to cite violators our goal is for compliance to make sure fire lanes and fire department accessibility are not impeded," he said.  

The first citation includes a $100 fine, $400 for the second, and $1,000 for the third ticket. More than three citations will be considered a misdemeanor.
