Guam - The Committee on Finance and Appropriations is still waiting on the submittal of two budget requests before officially setting dates for Fiscal Year 2014 budget hearings. Senator Ben Pangelinan's office tells KUAM News they are waiting on budget requests from the Judiciary of Guam and the Guam Memorial Hospital.

GMH administrator Joseph Verga tells KUAM the GMH board is meeting today to review and approve its FY2014 budget request. He adds GMH had initially requested a 30-day extension as the hospital is in a hole for $10 million for the current fiscal year. The extension allowed GMH to work on its budget proposal which he says will be built on accurate information and incorporate needs for prices to be adjusted at the hospital.

Meanwhile, court policy planning and community relations director Joshua Tenorio tells KUAM News that the Judiciary is still working on their budget proposal and will be turning it in on May 1 - the same day as Law Day.

Last year's budget hearings started in June.
