Guam - It was a crime that shocked the island community. A woman beaten in her own home, found by her roommates bound with duct tape and unconscious. After days of investigation arrests were finally made.

Raymond Torres Tedtaotao and Anthony Paul Mendiola are being held behind bars on a half-million dollars cash bail. The two along with a 16-year-old boy are accused of breaking into a home along Oceanview Drive in Piti on April 20. According to court documents the three pulled up to the home in a green Nissan Pathfinder. When they knocked on the door the woman answered, it was then they forced their way into the home and knocked the victim to the ground. Tedtaotao is accused of then hitting the woman in the face multiple times with a gun and then used duct tape to wrap her mouth, arms and legs. While Tedtaotao was beating on the woman, Mendiola and the 16-year-old were ransacking the house. The teenager took a duffle bag and stuffed it with clothes, while Mendiola stole two laptops. Tedtaotao in the meantime is accused of repeatedly hitting the woman asking her where the money was, but she couldn't respond because he had covered her mouth with duct tape. As the group left the house Tedtaotao noticed a purse in a parked car in the garage, he grabbed it and they fled.

It was just after one in the morning when the victim's roommates arrived to discover her unconscious, bleeding and wearing a t-shirt and panties. She was immediately transported to the Naval Hospital suffering from major head trauma and intra-cranial bleeding. The victim has since undergone neurosurgery and is now reportedly in stable condition.

Officers got a major break in the case through tips from the community and the victim who was able to identify at least one of the suspect in a photo lineup.  Search warrants were executed in Yigo and Dededo leading the arrests of the suspects. The 16-year-old is confined at the Department of Youth Affairs, while Tedtaotao and Mendiola were arrested and charged with first degree robbery, aggravated assault and burglary.

Tedtaotao and Blas were supposedly caught on surveillance video using the stolen ATM card. A month after their arrest, however the AG's Office through Assistant Attorney General Gerald Henderson asked the court to dismiss the charges against them. Henderson said it was in the best interest of justice.
