Oceanview Middle School on lockdown status

Guam - Oceanview Middle School is on lockdown at this hour. Department of Education Deputy Superintendent Rob Malay says school officials reported hearing loud noises from the jungle area near the campus.

Police were called to the scene to investigate the origin of those noises and to determine if there is any immediate threat to the school.

Malay clarifies that teachers and staff reported hearing "gunfire" in the jungles near the campus. Police made a check of the area and the all clear was given by 1:45.
