Guam - Representatives from the U.S. Government Accountability Office wrapped up their visit to Guam on Thursday by meeting with the Department of Defense and military officials.
Governor Eddie Calvo hopes the GAO will take all of the input and concerns raised by island leaders and government officials and ensure the federal government makes good on its obligation to Guam. "So it's important for the federal government to make good on their commitments for a 'One Guam' approach and for compensating us and giving us the necessary resources so that we can build the necessary infrastructure not only for their military strategic military purposes but also for the people of Guam" he said.
The GAO met with Governor Calvo, his fiscal policy team, members of the Guam Legislature and several government agencies including GPA, GWA, DOE, Public Health and the Port Authority of Guam.
