Guam - A Department of Youth Affairs client didn't get too far when he tried to escape from custody while leaving a court hearing on Wednesday morning. DYA spokesperson Danielle Camacho says the male minor ran away from DYA officers before restraints could be placed on the minor.

DYA and Superior Court Marshals were able to apprehend the minor shortly after.  He remains on lockdown and the matter is currently under investigation.

As for the March 5 escape of two DYA clients, Camacho says the investigation revealed that there was some negligence on the part of DYA staff, but the main reason for that particular escape was the aging facility. She confirms that proper administrative action was taken but no employees were served adverse action for the negligence.
