Guam - Every week, we bring you Think Green - a KUAM CareForce initiative promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle in our community. And this weekend, we're calling on you to take part in keeping our island clean.
KUAM station coordinator Betty Ann Guerrero said, "We'd like to invite the public to participate in our third annual KUAM Think Green Cleanup. It's scheduled for this Saturday, Show time is at 6:30am at the AK parking lot in Tamuning."
The cleanup will stretch down all the way to the Chief Quipuha Park in Hagatna. A shuttle service will be provided along with a briefing by i-Recycle on how to properly sort and separate trash and recyclables. And in an effort to prevent more trash, participants are asked to keep in the spirit of thinking green. "We do encourage, because it is a Think Green event, we encourage participates to bring their own water bottle containers," said Guerrero. "We will be providing biodegradable trash bags provided by our corporate sponsor MBI and as well as gloves provided by ERC."
Guerrero thanks sponsors like MBI and ERC along with AK Toyota, CitiBank, Market Wholesale Distributors, Celebrity Bakery, Kloppenburg Enterprises and Mr. Rubbishman.
Ultimately Guerrero says, the goal is to keep Guam clean. "We like to give back to the community 0703 KUAM CareForce volunteers throughout the year, we give to charities and this is our way of giving back to Guam," she said,
