Guam - It's good news for Guam as federal sequestration will not affect Guam Department of Education title five consolidated grant money. This news came with the return of DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez who met with federal counterparts in Washington last week.
According to the release, DOE receives approximately $20 million in Title V money for the present fiscal year and will continue to do so next fiscal year in order to service the island's 40 public schools.
Fernandez is set to give more updates on other talking points with USDOE at tonight's Guam Education Board meeting at Okkodo High School.
