Guam - Elementary students around the island learned to save for a rainy day as today marks Teach Children to Save Day. BankPacific president Phil Flores says this event is celebrated nationwide to teach kids to save their money and ways to do it.

"If they can walk away with just one thing to remember about the day about the bank - not necessarily our bank, but about saving and planning for the future, then it's well worth it," he told KUAM News.

From saving to buy the latest iPad and mobile phone or buying gifts for Mom and Dad, Flores was amazed when a Maria Ulloa Elementary School student wished to save her money to help others.
