Senators pass several bills
Guam - Senators are back in session and this afternoon passed several measures including Bill 77 that would develop a farmer's market facility in the village of Dededo as well as Bill 81 which would change how GovGuam procures health insurance for Fiscal Year 2014. Senators also confirmed several individuals to government boards and commissions.
Also on the floor today Senator Rory Respicio pitched support from his colleague for the passage of Bill 18. The measure would pay off a $392,000 debt to Hanjin Heavy Industries for work related to the construction of the Chamorro Village completed close to twenty years ago. The AG's Office opposed the legislation, saying it was unfair and sets dangerous precedence.
Session resumes tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.
