Great Recycling Roundup collects loads of recyclables
Guam - Today officially marks earth day across the nation and here at home, the Guam Environmental Protection Agency along with the i-Recycle program had a head start by not only hosting activities throughout the month but with its first great recycling roundup over the weekend. i-Recycle administrator Peggy Denney says volunteers collected a variety of recyclable items included 16 cubic yards of aluminum cans, two 20-cubic yard rolloffs of plastics one and twos and one 20-cubic yard of corrugated cardboard.
Additionally, small scrap metal, waste cooking and motor oil, florescent light bulbs and Styrofoam were taken to their respective recycling facilities whereas paper was shredded and donated to farmers for mulch.
