Guam - Simon Sanchez High School seniors are leaving their mark as they unveiled a new school marquee in front of Hafa Adai Market in Yigo. Senior Lucand Camacho says it was a struggle gathering sponsorships and supplies, but well worth the work as they raised $15,000 for the project.

He told KUAM News, "It's important to have a marquee because it involves parent communication and the previous marquee we had we weren't able to get the message across to parents and students. We feel like this really helps it."

From parent teacher conferences to other school news, the double-faced marquee will be lit at night so traffic from both directions can see important info from the high school.

English 12 teacher Gretchen Andres led the students in the project.
