Guam - The Guam Environmental Protection Agency's board of directors accepted a stipulated agreement dismissing Guam Resource Recovery Partners' appeal of their rejected solid waste landfill permit application. The approval was merely a formality as GRRP agreed to drop its appeal after working with Guam EPA administrator Eric Palacios.
The company is working to provide additional documentation requested by the agency to operate a landfill in Atantano, Santa Rita. Palacios initially denied the company's permit application, but has agreed to allow the company to provide among other things: financial assurances that it is capable of building the landfill and there is adequate
Leachate control to ensure there is no harm to the environment. The Guam EPA's board is set to meet again on Thursday, May 16 at 4pm.
