Mana Silva Taijeron selected as GEDA deputy administrator

Guam - The Guam Economic Development Authority board of directors approved the selection of former senator Mana Silva Taijeron as its new deputy administrator. Taijeron was a one-term senator in the 31st guam legislature and previously worked as a reporter for 17 years.
Taijeron says with GEDA playing an integral role in restoring and maintaining the island's economy, she hopes to bring more public outreaches and educational campaigns on what the agency has to offer. "There are good programs and it just needs to be communicated to the public of what's available, so I think my years of communication, my years of networking and discussing issues with the public, I think, would give me an advantage and help GEDA the information out there," she told KUAM News.
Taijeron replaces Tina Garcia, who served in an acting capacity for two years. She will now be the Business Development Division manager at GEDA.
The agency's board meanwhile also adopted the proposed organizational chart, which would add an economic research division within GEDA to include hiring an economist and developing a data repository.
