Guam - Interfering in the timely capture of a fugitive resulted in Joseph Mitchell Casil receiving a 12-month sentence. Casil lied to federal authorities about the location of a fugitive which delayed the arrest. He was charged with concealment of a material fact.

Upon release from his 12 months behind bars, he will be placed on supervised release for three years.  U.S. Attorney for Guam and the CNMI Alicia Limtiaco warns residents that those who intentionally misled authorities in the performance of their duties will face stiff penalties.
