Guam - Federal Aviation Administration representatives are on Guam. Airport executive manager Chuck Ada says while a number of issues and ongoing FAA funded projects will be discussed during their visit, much of the focus will be on the stalled Tiyan Parkway Project.  The design work for Phase I of the parkway is underway.

The Government of Guam must still complete a memorandum of understanding for the rights of way on the airport side. Phase I will connect Tiyan to Route 8 near Cars Plus in Maite. "There's quite a few funding sources. there are federal highway funds and FAA and there are some concerns with the timelines and our ability to move forward with it will you be asking for an extension? Right now, I believe we'll be able to hit the timelines. My previous discussion with them the timelines seems acceptable to them, but there was some concern but we're hopefully we don't need to."

The Tiyan Parkway was originally supposed to be completed last year.  Ada says the airport is also preparing for its annual inspection for certification.  During past inspections GIAA has been the leader in the region with the least number of discrepancies.
