Guam - An unidentified man has died from injuries he sustained in an early morning car crash in East Agana. The man had been in critical condition at the Guam Memorial Hospital's Intensive Care Unit since he was brought in early Friday morning.
He was the front passenger in a black Infiniti sedan that was involved in a hot pursuit with police that began in Tumon and ended in East Agana when the driver crashed into a concrete utility pole and a coconut tree. A 16-year-old female and a 16-year-old male were also injured in the crash.
The female is listed in stable condition while the male is listed in critical condition after he was transferred from the Naval Hospital. Another man was expected to be transferred from Naval Hospital to GMH, but there is currently no room.
Another individual, identified as a John Doe, was treated and released from GMH earlier today and taken into custody by police.
GMH Nursing Supervisor Bill Toves confirms an unidentified man passed away before six o'clock Friday night. The five were riding in a car that had been stolen from a Harmon apartment earlier this week. Three men broke into a home stealing the owner's wallet, his wife's purse and the couple's car keys. Police say they returned later that day and took the cars including the Infiniti sedan used in this morning's hot pursuit.
Authorities say the case remains under investigation and have not said if anyone has been arrested in connection with the case. The death marks the seventh traffic related fatality this year to date.
