Anthony Morcilla indicted on charge of negligent homicide

46-year-old Anthony Morcilla has been indicted by a superior court grand jury on charges of negligent homicide, leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle and child abuse.

Guam - 46-year-old Anthony Morcilla has been indicted by a superior court grand jury on charges of negligent homicide, leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle and child abuse. Moricilla, who is a senior probation officer at the Superior Court of Guam, allegedly forgot that he left his 2-year-old daughter in his car when he went to work a week ago.

The child was left in the car unattended for seven hours and died. Although he initially was facing murder charges, according to Attorney General's Office spokesperson Carlina Charfauros after further review the AG's Office moved to drop the murder charge to negligent homicide.

Morcilla, who has been released to third-party custodians, is scheduled to be arraigned next Wednesday.
