Guam - Four people were rushed to the hospital early this morning injured in a serious car crash. The crash was a result of a hot pursuit that began in Tumon just 2 in the morning.

A police officer on routine patrol in the Gun Beach area around in Tumon was caught off guard when a black Infiniti sedan sped past him catching his attention. "The officer attempted to pull over that vehicle. The vehicle operator of that vehicle refused to pull over made a left turn from San Vitores where the Tumon-Tamuning Precinct is up Happy Landing Road and made an erratic right turn onto Marine Drive," detailed Officer A.J. Balajadia, spokesman for the Guam Police Department.

Police continued the pursuit on Marine Corps Drive past Camp Watkins Road and as they tried to elude authorities, the driver of the Infiniti lost control in East Agana, crossing over three northbound lanes slamming into a concrete utility power pole and this coconut tree. Officer Balajadia says the crash site wasn't pretty as windows were shattered and the five occupants were literally tossed around the car upon impact. "According to the officers we had one male adult was located at the rear outside the vehicle after the crash the operator was partially hanging over the window of the driver's side door we had a male and female minor located in the back seat 3309 and a male adult in the passenger's seat," he said.

Guam Fire Department spokesperson Lieutenant Ed Artero says medics transported two of the occupants to Naval Hospital in Agana Heights and another two to the Guam Memorial Hospital in Tamuning. Naval Hospital spokesperson Jennifer Zengali tells KUAM News the patients were in fair condition and were transported to GMH today. GMH nursing supervisor Cely Magrobang says a John Doe who was the front passenger in the Infiniti is listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. Another John Doe was treated and released and taken into police custody.

She says a 16-year-old boy who was taken to Naval Hospital is expected to be transported to GMH this evening.

Police are still investigating why the driver fled but they have a good idea as the vehicle had been stolen earlier this week and is believed to be linked to a home invasion in Harmon. Officer Balajadia says police responded to the call early Tuesday morning when a man reported that someone knocked on his apartment door and as he was unlocking it, a male individual forced his way in accompanied by two other men who took his wallet and his wife's purse as well as their car keys. He added, "They left there was no injury reported from that incident later that day his cars were taken one of the cars that was taken was the infinity that was involved in this morning's crash."

Balajadia says the other stolen vehicle was recovered on Wednesday. Police have not released the names of the individuals in the car, but KUAM News has confirmed there were three men as well as two minors -one female and one male.

The case remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.
