Guam - With State Department Secretary John Kerry expected to be in Seoul, South Korea this week, Senator Frank Aguon Jr. has written a letter inviting him to visit Guam. Senator Aguon states in the letter, "Although the citizenry maintain their confidence in the U.S. Military's Defenses and that of their International Allies, the escalating acts of defiance from the North Korean Government have evoked accounts of life and tensions before, during, and after World War II on our island of Guam." He concludes, "As we await a final resolution and hopefully a peaceful outcome to the present situation, I would like to extend a personal invitation to you to visit our beautiful island of Guam to alleviate any uncertainties of both the civilian and military communities of this westernmost U.S. Territory."
