Guam - 22-year old Andrea Servantes just moved from Long Beach, California to Houston to attend the Cyfair campus of the Lone Star College System. In her second semester as a nursing student she just finished an exam and was with her classmates in the student lounge.
Her uncle, Ray Babauta said, "All of a sudden she sees this guy jump in her face and it feels like he's punched her and my little niece being the Chamorrito that she is jumped up and was going to confront this guy ask him what the hell, what did you punch me for, but before that her friends grabbed her and said oh my gosh you're bleeding she looked down and saw that she was drenched in blood. She felt the wound on her neck she saw the blood squirting out."
Babauta spoke with us from the hospital where she was transported. Their family is originally from Dededo and Barrigada and have been living in California for several years but moved to Texas. Andrea just moved to Texas over the summer to attend college. Babauta says Andrea is currently in a lower level intensive care unit in stable condition.
"She's still shaken up she's traumatized she's tough she's a strong girl she's going to pull through this," he said.
At least 14 people were stabbed. Arrested was 20-year-old student Dylan Quick.
