Guam - This year's Smokin Wheels kicks off Friday night at the drag strip in Yigo. KUAM Sports caught up with Bob Bucek from GIRMAC to some info on what fans can expect this weekend.
Bucek said, "We are going to start off at 8:00 am in the morning Saturday and we are going to start off with the kids mini atv classes and move up to the bigger atv's. You are going to see the pros from Japan and this is round 2 of their all Japan atv championships so it kind of combines with our Guam Monster Energy Motocross Championships. We have our motocross bikes out there, Jr. Cepeda is going to be out there flying high and we have a bunch of good riders out there. We also have a bunch of red dirt brought in to put out there to make bigger badder jumps. Big up hill doubles, big triple jumps now and we have the double double still in so there's going to be a lot of exciting side by side high flying elbow jabbing action out there. Sunday is going to all of our motorcycle and atv endurance events. We start off at 7:00 am in the morning with our 1hour 85cc mini bike endurance race and it's 1 rider 1 machine. Then we go into our open atv class with the all Japan riders and all of our Guam riders combined, it's like a free for all. They are out there for 2 hours putting it in, that's one machine 2 riders. After that's complete we go in to the motorcycles, the big open class motorcycle s ranging from 150cc to 450cc bad machines. It's going to be a lot of fun and you don't want to miss it."
