Guam - The Guam Visitors Bureau is preparing for an increase in Chinese visitors with its upcoming China outbound travel market symposium set for May 22. The symposium is made possible through the support of the Pacific Asia Travel Association. Chinese arrivals forecast to increase at an average rate of over 10% in the next 10 years or more with the approval of the China visa waiver.

GVB general manager Karl Pangelinan says, "There is extensive work being done in Guam and Washington, DC to facilitate a visa waiver for china." He adds that Governor Eddie Calvo's recent trips to the nation's capitol lead local officials to expect a decision later this year.
