KDBC interviewed Major Joe Buccino of Fort Bliss who says THAAD has successfully been used 11 times before in training, but this is the first time the technology is being deployed for use abroad. He added that units at Fort Bliss are prepared for any contingency. DOD secretary Chuck Hagel said yesterday the THAAD would be deployed to Guam in the coming weeks in response to ramped up rhetoric from North Korea.
