Guam - A Superior Court of Guam senior probation officer was arrested Wednesday night accused of leaving his 2-year-old female toddler inside his parked car for seven hours.  Anthony L. Morcilla, 46 of Barrigada, was arrested on charges of murder and child abuse.

Guam Police Department Spokesperson Officer A.J. Balajadia says Morcilla parked and secured his car around 8:30 Wednesday morning and went to work.  Around 3:30 this afternoon, he realized that his child was left in the car and found her lifeless body inside.  911 was called and medics were dispatched to the probation office in Hagatna where CPR was administered to the child.

The toddler was transported to Naval Hospital and pronounced dead.   Officer Balajadia says the father was supposed to have taken the toddler to daycare Wednesday morning but the girl fell asleep and he forgot she was in the car.

Morcilla is being held behind bars and is expected to appear in the Superior Court for a magistrate's hearing on Thursday.
