Guam - The Guam Legal Services Corporation's board of directors voted to implement a 36-hour workweek, and beginning on May 20 the Law Center will change its hours of operations to 8:30am to 4:30pm.  The cuts in hours are necessary due to sequestration and federal grant money running out.

GLSC executive director Hank Parker says the 36-hour workweek will only provide enough savings to carry the organization through 2014. The board is also reviewing insurance coverage and retirement contributions cuts that might have to be implemented as well.

Parker says all of the cuts will result in a reduction in the types of cases they will accept for representation.
